Job summary

Nettex Australia Pty Ltd is seeking an Android Developer to own the Kotlin-based warehouse scanner app and transform parts of our legacy BASIC system into a clean Java API for Android consumption. You will work on a variety of projects, review pull requests, and help reduce tech debt in a supportive, in-person team environment in Alexandria, NSW.

You'll have autonomy to design and implement features, collaborate across teams, and contribute ideas to move the company forward in a low-stress,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• "BASIC" family of programming languages (e.g. VB, PB, FB): 1 year (Required).

Responsibilities

• Own the Android application design and development for the Kotlin-based warehouse scanner app.
• Migrate parts of the legacy BASIC system to a clean Java API for Android consumption.
• Review and approve pull requests from teammates.
• Ensure the Android app minimizes technical debt.

Who We’re Looking

For We are looking for an Android Developer interested in owning the development of our Kotlin-based warehouse scanner app to boost operational efficiency. We have a legacy system written in a Basic language (similar to Visual Basic) and your role would largely consist of trying to figure out how certain aspects of that system work and then turning it into a clean Java API for your fragments on the Android app to consume.

A Typical Week Might Include:

• Redesigning warehouse dispatch processes to improve efficiency
• Migrating the order to batch matching algorithm over to our new Java API and designing an Android screen to consume it
• Reviewing and approving pull requests from teammates
• Ensuring our Android app contains minimal amounts of tech debt.

We will never stop you from pausing feature work to fix tech debt you feel is important to tackle (within reason of course)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $110,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year Ability to commute/relocate:
