Job summary

Computit Technology Pty Ltd in Brisbane is seeking an experienced Developer/Programmer to design, develop and deliver software solutions for client projects. Location: Brisbane CBD, Queensland (On-site). Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent.

Base salary: A$80,000–A$100,000 per annum, plus superannuation. The role covers full-stack development, software architecture, technical leadership and client engagement across the software lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of professional software development experience including full-stack delivery.
• Proficiency in front-end and back-end development frameworks and languages.
• Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript or TypeScript, and modern frameworks such as React, Angular or Vue.js.
• Experience with server-side languages: Node.js, Python, PHP, C#/.NET, or Java.
• Understanding of databases and REST API design and integrations.
• Ability to design software architectures and deploy to production environments.
• Strong communication and client engagement skills.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Computit Technology Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Developer/Programmer to design, develop and deliver software solutions for client projects. Location: Brisbane CBD, Queensland (On-site)

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Working Hours: 38 hours per week Salary: A$80,000 - $100,000 base salary per annum, plus superannuation

The position encompasses full-stack development, software and system architecture, technical project leadership, client engagement and production deployment. Responsibilities extend from requirements analysis and project scoping through to release and ongoing maintenance. Our projects utilize different technology stacks according to client requirements and existing systems.

Applicants must demonstrate sound technical judgement, proficiency across multiple technologies and the ability to adapt to new environments. Working within a small team, the successful applicant will be expected to contribute effectively from the outset and deliver work with minimal day-to-day technical supervision, while communicating proactively and seeking clarification or approval where required.

The role offers exposure to varied client projects, direct involvement in architecture and technology decisions, and responsibility across the software development lifecycle. It provides an opportunity to engage directly with clients and deliver practical software solutions with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement and Requirements Analysis: Lead client discussions, clarify business requirements, define project scope and agree on deliverables. Explain technical options, provide progress updates and manage expectations regarding priorities, timelines and proposed changes. Solution Architecture and Technical Delivery: Design software and system architecture, including application components, integrations and data flows.

Evaluate suitable technologies, prepare implementation plans, estimate development effort and communicate technical dependencies and delivery risks. Full-Stack Application Development: Develop and maintain responsive front-end interfaces, back-end services, APIs and databases. Implement new functionality, integrate third-party systems and enhance existing applications and codebases.

Production Environments and Deployment: Configure virtual machines and application-hosting environments, manage application configurations and releases, and troubleshoot application and server issues. Support reliable deployments and resolve post-release issues. Software Quality, Security and Documentation: Develop maintainable code, conduct testing, resolve defects and optimize application performance.

Apply appropriate security practices and maintain technical documentation covering requirements, architecture, configuration and deployment procedures.

Essential Skills and Experience

Professional Software Development Experience: A minimum of one year of relevant professional software development experience, including demonstrated experience developing and maintaining full-stack applications, with involvement in requirements analysis, solution design, implementation and production deployment.

Technical Versatility: Strong proficiency in multiple programming languages and practical experience with modern front-end and back-end development frameworks. Relevant technologies include: Front-End Development: HTML, CSS and JavaScript or TypeScript, with experience using frameworks or libraries such as React, Angular or Vue.js.

Back-End Development: JavaScript/TypeScript with Node.js, Python, PHP, C#/.NET or Java, together with relevant application and API development frameworks. Databases and Integrations: PostgreSQL, MySQL or Microsoft SQL Server, including database schema design, SQL queries and optimization, REST API development and third-party system integrations.

Architecture and Production Deployment: Practical experience designing software or system architecture, evaluating technical solutions for functionality, security, performance and maintainability, and configuring virtual-machine-based production environments. Experience deploying applications and troubleshooting hosting and deployment issues is essential. Communication and Client Engagement: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to lead client discussions, clarify requirements, explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and document technical decisions. Ability to communicate technical constraints and establish realistic project scope and delivery expectations.

Technical Leadership and Project Ownership: Demonstrated ability to guide technical decisions, organize development priorities, identify risks and take responsibility for project delivery. The role requires hands‑on technical and project leadership rather than formal staff management. Independent

Working and Professional Judgement: Ability to assess unfamiliar codebases and technical environments, research solutions, resolve complex problems and manage competing priorities with minimal technical supervision. Sound judgement in identifying when project scope, delivery commitments or production changes require approval. Software Engineering Practices: Practical experience with Git version control, software testing, debugging, secure development practices and technical documentation, with a strong focus on delivering reliable, efficient and maintainable software.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

A relevant qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Experience with cloud platforms, containerization, automated build and deployment pipelines (CI/CD), application logging and monitoring, or deployment and rollback procedures.
