Job summary

The Salvation Army in Brisbane is seeking a Registered Nurse for Casual x 2 roles at the Moonyah Recovery Services Centre, Red Hill. You will contribute to high‑quality detox nursing and holistic care for people starting recovery.

You will join a dedicated clinical team delivering detox nursing, mental health support, and trauma‑informed, person‑centred care across shifts. A tertiary nursing qualification and current AHPRA registration are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years’ experience in AOD or mental health nursing.
• Tertiary nursing qualification and current AHPRA registration.
• Strong clinical assessment, triage and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing assessments and evidence-based withdrawal treatment per QLD AOD guidelines.
• Provide detox care, monitor health changes and respond to clinical shifts.
• Coordinate with visiting medical officers and ensure continuity of care.
• Administer and monitor medications to manage withdrawal symptoms.
• Lead admissions, discharges and maintain clinical documentation.
• Conduct ongoing reviews and raise concerns as needed.
• Support trauma‑informed, person‑centred care and infection control.
