Job summary

seek.com.au is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant to join our Australian finance team. This is a hands-on role supporting our cash book accounting function, performing data entry and reconciliation to keep our finances running smoothly in a busy freight forwarder.

You will handle cash book processing, supplier invoices, GL reconciliations, and routine reports. The ideal candidate has bookkeeping experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with Xero or MYOB;

Qualifications

• Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable, or accounts assistant roles.
• Excellent data entry accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience handling high transaction volumes.
• Proficiency with Excel (intermediate to advanced) and accounting software (Xero/MYOB or similar).
• Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Cash book accounting and daily transaction processing.
• Supplier invoice entry with high accuracy.
• General ledger and account reconciliations.
• Preparing routine financial reports.
• Investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Support month-end processes.
• Provide general admin support to the finance team.
• Assist Finance manager with ad-hoc duties.
