Job summary

Four Fashion Australia is a Collingwood-based fashion design house seeking a full-time Fashion Designer to lead concept development from initial idea to final production. You will create concept boards, sketches and technical specs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver market-ready collections.

You will work across the entire design process, stay ahead of trends and contribute to the brand's aesthetic while ensuring production feasibility and quality.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Fashion Design or related discipline.
• Proven fashion designer with studio or brand experience.
• Strong proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Knowledge of CLO or similar 3D design tools is preferred.
• Excellent drawing and rendering skills to communicate ideas.
• Solid understanding of garment construction and production techniques.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills with ability to manage multiple tasks.

About the role

We are seeking a talented and creative Fashion Designer to join our design team on a full-time basis at our Collingwood studio. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for conceptualising and developing fashion collections that reflect current trends whilst maintaining the unique identity of Four Fashion Australia. You will work across the entire design process, from initial concept through to final production, collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring innovative designs to life. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant creative impact and contribute to the strategic direction of our brand.

Key responsibilities

Develop and present original fashion concepts, designs and mood boards for seasonal collections

Conduct trend research and analysis to inform design direction and keep collections contemporary and market-relevant

Create detailed sketches, technical drawings and specifications for garments

Select and source fabrics, trims and other materials that align with design vision and brand standards

Collaborate with pattern makers, samplers and production teams to ensure designs are executed to specification

Refine designs based on sampling feedback and fit testing

Participate in design meetings and presentations to communicate creative concepts to stakeholders

Manage multiple design projects simultaneously whilst meeting deadlines

Stay informed of industry trends, competitor offerings and market developments

Contribute to the overall creative vision and brand aesthetic of Four Fashion Australia

What we're looking for

A degree or diploma in Fashion Design or a related discipline

Proven experience working as a fashion designer, ideally within a design studio, fashion house or apparel company

Strong proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and ideally CLO or similar 3D design tools

Exceptional drawing and sketching skills with the ability to communicate design ideas visually

Solid understanding of garment construction, fit, fabric properties and production techniques

A keen eye for colour, proportion, detail and overall aesthetic

Knowledge of current fashion trends and industry developments

Excellent organisational and project management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks

Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams

Passion for fashion and commitment to design excellence

A portfolio demonstrating your design work, creative process and range of capabilities
