Job summary

BNAH is seeking a creative and technically skilled Fashion Designer to join our design team in Australia. You will develop seasonal collections from concept through to final production, translating creative direction into wearable pieces that reflect the BNAH aesthetic and resonate with customers.

The role requires strong garment construction knowledge, proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop, and the ability to produce sketches, tech packs, and detailed design specifications.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in fashion design, textile design, or related field.
• 2–3+ years of industry experience in fashion design or product development.
• Portfolio showcasing previous work (PDF or link) required at application stage.

Responsibilities

• Develop seasonal collections from concept through production.
• Translate creative direction into elevated wearable pieces that reflect the brand aesthetic.
• Collaborate with in-house design team and production partners to refine designs.
• Manage fit, specs, and technical documentation from sampling to production approval.

With over 30 years of heritage, our collections are designed in-house and distributed through flagship retail stores across Australia, alongside our global online platform.

We are now seeking a creative and technically skilled Fashion Designer to join our growing design team and help shape the next chapter of our collections.

The Role

As our Fashion Designer, you will collaborate with our in-house creative team to develop seasonal collections from concept through to final production. You will play a key role in translating creative direction into elevated, wearable pieces that reflect the BNAH aesthetic and resonate with our customers.

What You Bring

Education & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related field
• 2-3+ years of industry experience in fashion design or product development

Design & Technical Expertise

• Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics, and textiles
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Ability to develop sketches, tech packs, and detailed design specifications
• Knowledge of pattern making and production processes

Creative Direction

• Strong design sensibility with a refined understanding of silhouette, colour, and trend
• Ability to create original designs aligned with a defined brand aesthetic
• Strong attention to detail, finish, and quality

Industry Understanding

• Awareness of fashion trends, materials, and market direction
• Understanding of sourcing, costing, and manufacturing workflows
• Confident working with production teams, tailors, and suppliers
• Strong communication and ability to present and refine ideas
• Open to feedback with a collaborative mindset

Time Management

• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Highly organised and comfortable working independently (especially in part-time capacity)

Design & Technical Experience

• Strong understanding of garment fit, balance, and proportion
• Ability to assess fit samples and communicate technical fit comments
• Experience managing the fit process from sampling through to production approval
