Job summary

Zimmermann is seeking a motivated Design Room Assistant to join the Design team on a casual basis. You will support the development of seasonal collections, update tech sketches, and assist with fittings and sample development in a fast-paced luxury fashion environment.

Ideal candidates are currently studying or recently graduated in Fashion Design, with strong organisation, attention to detail, and teamwork. This hands-on role offers valuable industry exposure within a global luxury brand.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the design team with day-to-day tasks in the design room to support the development of seasonal collections.
• Creating and updating tech sketches in line with designer direction, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
• Undertaking hand sewing, and sample cutting to support fittings and sample development.
• Producing paper dollies for placement artwork, embroidery layouts, and cutting instructions.
• Assisting with garment preparation for fittings, including steaming, labelling, and organising samples.
• Running errands as required, including deliveries and collections from local dyers, printers, and fabric or trim suppliers.
• Organising and maintaining samples, fabrics, and trims within the design room.
• Assisting with general design room administration and ad-hoc tasks to ensure smooth daily operations.

• Assisting the design team with day-to-day tasks in the design room to support the development of seasonal collections
