Job summary

Redpath Partners in Newcastle is seeking an experienced Design Manager to take ownership of design management on a major mixed-use development. You will lead design coordination, work with consultants, contractors and internal teams to drive delivery through pre-construction and construction.

You will manage BIM coordination, design reviews, and buildability, ensuring NCC, BCA and DBP Act compliance, while overseeing consultant scopes and fees.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering complex residential, mixed-use, or large-scale developments.
• Strong design leadership and coordination across consultants and contractors.
• Experience with head contractors or developer-builders is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead design coordination across pre-construction and delivery phases.
• Drive design reviews, value management and buildability.
• Manage consultant scopes, fees and engagement.
• Lead design meetings, workshops and project reporting.
• Oversee BIM coordination and design deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with NCC, BCA, and other statutory requirements.
• Support approvals, construction certificates and client reviews.
• Drive quality, safety and design outcomes throughout delivery.
