Job summary

AECOM in Australia seeks a senior design team leader to drive technical delivery and governance across WA and SA. You will lead design execution, quality improvement, and lifecycle management of design software platforms.

You'll recruit, develop, and mentor the team, foster an inclusive, high-performance culture, and ensure delivery excellence with strong safety and client satisfaction across projects.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary or vocational training in engineering design and drafting, or engineering technology.
• Experience with design/drafting platforms including Autodesk and Bentley suites.
• Leadership experience in consulting engineering within mining or industrial sectors.

• Lead design team development and governance across WA and SA regional businesses.

Job Description

Drive technical delivery and project excellence by leading design team development, and governance, while fostering a culture of quality, innovation, and collaboration across their portfolio.

• Manage the design execution functions within the Western Australian and South Australian regional businesses.
• Identify techniques to improve quality and enhance operational excellence.
• Implement continuous improvement and manage revision control, life-cycle replacement and assessment/management of changes to design software platforms.
• Undertake recruitment, development, and succession planning for team.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive work environment, empowering team members to take ownership of their responsibilities and encouraging their professional development.
• Ensure delivery excellence across all projects, maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary or vocational training in engineering design and drafting, or engineering technology
• Experience and certification in the use and administration of a range of design/drafting platforms including;
• Autodesk suite (Advance Steel, Plant 3D, Civil 3D, Revit)
• Bentley suite (Microstation)
• Design Data Management platforms (Autodesk Vault, ProjectWise)
• Relevant team leadership and business leadership experience in consulting engineering within the mining and/or industrial sectors
