We're looking for a Design Engineer - Control & Automation Design to join our Engineering & Design team in Ultimo.
In this role, you'll provide specialist engineering expertise across the design, review and delivery of substation Control and Automation systems for major transmission projects. You'll work closely with project teams, customers and external design partners to develop innovative solutions, technical standards and design documentation that support the safe and reliable operation of the electricity network.
As a Design Engineer, you'll combine technical design expertise with stakeholder collaboration to deliver high-quality automation solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects.
On any given day, you could be:
Designing and reviewing substation Protection, Control and Automation systems.
Preparing technical specifications, design documentation and engineering standards.
Developing communication architectures using industry-standard protocols including DNP and IEC 61850.
Providing technical support and oversight to external design consultants.
Participating in FAT, SCAT and commissioning activities.
Collaborating with project teams to ensure designs meet safety, quality, budget and schedule requirements.
Contributing to standardisation, continuous improvement and automation tool development.
You are a collaborative and solutions-focused engineer with experience in Control, Protection and Automation systems within transmission, distribution, generation or related industries.
