Job summary

Hickory is seeking a Design Coordinator to support design delivery on a $600M+ residential development. You will coordinate design documentation, align with client requirements, and work with design managers, consultants, and project teams from early design through construction.

The role focuses on coordinating design processes, resolving clashes, and contributing to efficient project delivery while collaborating with an in-house structures and facades team in a dynamic Australian setting.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in a Design Coordinator or similar role within commercial or residential construction.
  • Exposure to large-scale residential, mixed-use or high-rise developments is highly regarded.
  • Strong understanding of design documentation and coordination processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating the design process from planning through to construction.
  • Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure design alignment.
  • Support design reviews, documentation, and drawing coordination.
  • Identify and help resolve design clashes, discrepancies, and buildability issues.
  • Contribute to value engineering and cost-effective design solutions.
  • Assist with ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and project requirements.
  • Participate in design meetings and support communication across stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate design records and documentation.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We're seeking a Design Coordinator to support the delivery of design across a $600M+ residential development project. You will work closely with Design Managers, consultants, and project teams to coordinate design documentation, ensure alignment with project and client requirements, and contribute to the efficient delivery of the project from early design stages through to construction.
