Job summary

Laing O’Rourke is seeking a Design Coordinator/Engineer for Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast to drive design coordination for The Wave project. The role supports bidding, tendering and delivery with a focus on safe, high-quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities include collaboration with Engineering Managers and project teams, design development, and applying Digital Engineering and DfMA to improve efficiency and value. A strong safety culture is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Geotechnical or related Engineering discipline.
• Experience in design engineering with solid understanding of design codes, specifications, QA processes.
• Skilled at building relationships with multidisciplinary project teams, consultants, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Knowledgeable in Digital Engineering tools with Navisworks; exposure to 3D modelling software incl. Revit/Tekla.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical engineering support across bidding, tendering and delivery to drive excellence and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with Engineering Managers, Design Managers and project teams to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes on time and within budget.
• Contribute to design development, alternative construction methodologies and DfMA solutions to improve efficiency and value.
• Support the application of Digital Engineering, including model coordination, planning, clash detection and digital delivery processes.
• Champion a strong safety, wellbeing and environmental culture; embed Safety in Design principles.
