Job summary

ACCIONA in Western Australia is recruiting an engineer to support commissioning, start-up, performance testing and initial operation of the Alkimos seawater desalination plant near Perth.

You will work across control room monitoring and field troubleshooting, collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams to deliver a safe, efficient start-up and gain leadership capability on a major infrastructure project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemical, Process or Instrumentation & Control required.
• Experience commissioning or operating water treatment/desalination plants preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret PFDs, P&IDs and control philosophies.
• Working knowledge of SCADA or DCS control systems.
• Willingness to be fully site-based for the commissioning phase.

Responsibilities

• Develop working knowledge of assigned process systems and control logic
• Support safe execution of commissioning activities to spec and procedure
• Collaborate with operators, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation teams
• Conduct system walkdowns, punch listing and completion verification
• Support loop checks, sequence testing and cause-and-effect matrix testing
• Review process trends and data to inform commissioning decisions
• Apply HSSE systems including PTW, LOTO and risk assessments
