Job summary

Hope Dermatology in South Melbourne is seeking a passionate Dermal Clinician for a part-time role. You will perform advanced skin treatments, assessments, and bespoke skincare plans while delivering compassionate clinical care.

Collaboration with dermatologists and nurses is key, along with maintaining records and stock. The ideal candidate has a minimum of two years’ dermal therapy experience, strong knowledge of skin anatomy, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive skin assessments and consultations to develop customised treatment plans.
• Perform laser and light-based treatments for pigmentation/vascular issues and laser genesis, LED therapy.
• Provide skin rejuvenation, resurfacing, peels, and skin needling.
• Carry out diathermy, extractions, cryotherapy, and other procedures under supervision.
• Assist with reception, bookings, billing, referrals, and patient queries.

Hope Dermatology is a specialist-led medical clinic located in the heart of South Melbourne, close to the South Melbourne market. Our clinic welcomes patients for skin cancer checks and surgical excisions of melanoma and skin cancer, acne and a wide variety of inflammatory skin issues such as eczema/psoriasis/acute skin rashes, and cosmetic issues such as ageing skin, pigmentary issues of the skin and hair loss issues.

About the role

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Dermal Clinician to join our team at Hope Dermatology in South Melbourne using our modern machines and therapies. This is a Part-Time role relying on your experience and passion for dermal therapies to provide exceptional skin treatments and compassionate clinical care to our clients and patients.

What you'll be doing

The successful candidate may be involved in performing a range of advanced skin treatments and clinical procedures including:

• Conducting comprehensive skin assessments and consultations to develop customised treatment plans for clients;
• Laser and light-based treatments for pigmentation and vascular issues and laser genesis, LED light therapy;
• Skin rejuvenation and resurfacing treatments including CO2 ablative laser;
• Radiofrequency and skin tightening treatments including Ultraformer III (HIFU) treatments;
• Chemical peels, facials, and skin needling;
• Diathermy treatments;
• Extractions for acne/comedomes/milia;
• Cryotherapy for solar lentigines and seborrhoeic keratoses under doctors instructions/direction;
• TCA peels for rejuvenation/acne scars/xanthelasma under doctors instructions/direction;
• Customised hair growth protocols developed in-house;
• Scar reduction planning and treatments for our patients who may have acne scarring or post-surgical scars that can be improved;
• Educating clients on proper skin care routines and product recommendations to achieve their desired results - we currently stock Rationale, O Cosmedics, Ego/QV, Propaira skin care ranges and we are looking to grow our skin care range options, including online store options;
• Regular stock-taking of our cosmetic skin care range;
• Working in collaboration with our reception team to book appointments at reception desk, do billings and take payments after appointments and triage medical and cosmetic referrals and answer phone and email queries from patients/clients;
• Assisting at reception desk when there is overflow work, as needed and when directed by the practice principal and reception staff;
• Assisting the team in production and publishing of educational dermatology content for social media which is professional and adhering to AHPRA guidelines;
• Maintaining accurate patient/client records to ensure strict compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations;
• Refilling medical and stationery stock in all clinical rooms and maintaining the appearance of the clinic to our high standard;
• Maintaining sterilisation of instruments using our on-site Autoclave machine; in collaboration with our cosmetic and procedural nurses;
• Collaborating with the wider team including our dermatologists, our skin cancer GP and our cosmetic nurses (who provide injectables); to provide a seamless and exceptional client/patient experience.
