The Education Portfolio lies at the heart of the University's operations and brings together a diverse range of teams dedicated to supporting students across their entire university journey, from first enquiry through to graduation. Led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education), the Portfolio is committed to delivering a high-quality, inclusive and future-focused education experience, underpinned by strong academic support, innovative programs and a vibrant campus community.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) reports to the Provost & Senior Vice-President and plays a critical leadership role, providing strategic and operational planning, student lifecycle management, academic quality, regulatory assurance, high-quality learning and teaching, and sustainable delivery of education services across the University.

The role works in partnership with students and their representative organisations to ensure student perspectives inform education strategy, service design and institutional decision-making.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) is supported by the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning & Teaching), Pro Vice-Chancellor (International & Future Students), Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic Quality), University Registrar, Director (Experience, Wellbeing & Inclusion), and Dean of Students, who collectively provide leadership across academic quality, student experience, education services and strategic education initiatives.

The Deputy-Vice Chancellor (Education) is also supported by the Director (Education Portfolio), to ensure the effective financial, workforce and operational management of the Education Portfolio, aligning resources and capability with university priorities and supporting the sustainable delivery of education services.

The successful candidate will be a respected academic leader with a proven ability to drive educational excellence, institutional transformation, and improved student outcomes. They will bring strong strategic judgement, the ability to build collaboration across diverse communities, and exceptional stakeholder engagement skills. With experience leading high-performing teams and managing significant resources, they will contribute a whole-of-University perspective to the institution’s strategic leadership and success.
