CMAX Advisory seeks a Deputy Director to lead Defence and national security engagements, advising senior clients and growing the practice. You will work with a Director to manage a portfolio of Defence-related relationships, guiding complex engagements and ensuring high-quality, commercially sound outcomes.

The role requires deep policy and political judgement, strong relationship leadership, and the ability to operate with senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Defence, national security, government, politics or consulting
• Strong knowledge of Australian Government, parliamentary and Defence decision-making environments
• Experience advising senior executives, officials or industry leaders
• Proven track record leading engagements, campaigns or advisory programs
• Excellent strategic, analytical and communication skills

Responsabilités

• Lead defined portfolio of Defence and national security client relationships
• Direct significant engagements, campaigns and complex workstreams
• Advise senior clients on political, policy, Defence and stakeholder matters
• Develop understanding of clients’ objectives and operating environments
• Shape government relations, market-positioning and strategic communications plans
• Prepare clients and leaders for engagements with ministers, departments and industry
