Job summary

Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation – Robina requires a Deputy-Chief Remote Pilot & Maintenance Controller to lead RPAS maintenance programs and supervise pilots under the ReOC framework. The role combines strategic oversight, asset management, and compliance with CASA and state policies to ensure airworthiness and safe operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee RPAS maintenance programs to ensure airworthiness in line with CASA requirements.
• Lead development and maintenance of asset management for procurement, maintenance, and replacement.
• Maintain RPAS serviceability records and ensure maintenance per Maintenance Manual and schedules.
• Supervise authorised pilots and staff performing maintenance tasks per CASA requirements.
• Investigate defects and develop, enforce, and monitor maintenance standards.
• Ensure record keeping as required by CASA and DES.
• Relieve Chief Remote Pilot when required and assess flight plans for departmental operations.
• Support safe and lawful flying operations in alignment with legislation and policy.
