Job summary

Serco is seeking a Dentist to join Kapooka Health Centre, a Defence-focused primary care setting near Wagga Wagga. This part-time role (Thursday and Friday, 7:30–15:30) delivers comprehensive general dentistry with no Medicare billing within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care.
• Two years’ post graduate clinical experience (minimum).
• Current unconditional registration as a Dentist with AHPRA.
• First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certifications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver clinical dental services to Defence members.
• Provide a full range of general dental care including examinations, diagnosis, treatment planning and preventative care.
• Undertake restorations, extractions, root canal treatments, periodontal care and minor oral surgery.
• Promote and maintain oral health through patient education and preventative strategies.
• Use diagnostic tools including dental imaging to support clinical decisions.
• Maintain accurate clinical records using Defence eHealth systems and governance compliance.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to support optimal patient outcomes.

About Kapooka Health Centre

Kapooka Health Centre & Clinic are approximately 10 minutes outside of Wagga Wagga within the Kapooka Military area located at Blamey Barracks. All soldiers in the Army complete Basic Training here, known as the “Home of the Soldier”. These health facilities support the Army Recruit Training Centre (ARTC). It has a 50-bed low dependency ward which operates 24/7. Services provided include primary medical, nursing, dental, mental health, pharmaceutical and physiotherapy. Health Centre staff may be required to work across Wagga & Kapooka. Standard hours of operation are generally 0700-1600 Monday to Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).

What You’ll Do

• Maintain accurate clinical records using Defence eHealth systems and ensure compliance with governance frameworks
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team to support optimal patient outcomes

What You Bring

• Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Dentist with AHPRA
• Minimum two years’ full-time (or equivalent) post graduate clinical experience, with recent practice within the last five years
• Strong clinical capability across a broad range of general dentistry procedures
• Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certification
• Australian Citizenship required for baseline security clearance
• Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care
