Job summary

SA & SMJ Pty Ltd in Tamworth, NSW, is seeking a skilled Dental Technician for a full-time role. The position involves fabricating, repairing and restoring dental appliances, with duties across multiple sites in regional NSW and Victoria.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant dentistry qualification, hands-on experience with dentures and restorations, and strong attention to detail. Salary is AU$80,000 per annum with progression based on skills and experience.

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification in Dentistry or an equivalent field.
• Demonstrated experience working as a Dental Technician or Dentist.
• Practical experience in the fabrication and repair of dental appliances and restorations.
• Knowledge of dental materials, laboratory techniques and dental anatomy.
• Ability to accurately interpret dental prescriptions and technical specifications.
• Good hand skills, precision and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Construct and repair full and partial dentures and other removable dental appliances.
• Prepare dental models from impressions and digital scans.
• Fabricate crowns, bridges, veneers, inlays and other dental restorations as required.
• Manufacture orthodontic appliances, retainers, plates and mouthguards.
• Work with acrylic, ceramic, metal, composite and other dental materials.
• Undertake trimming, finishing and adjustments to completed appliances.
• Repair, modify and reline existing dentures and other dental appliances.
• Interpret dental prescriptions, impressions, models and technical specifications.
• Use laboratory equipment, hand tools and digital dental technology, including CAD/CAM systems where applicable.
• Check completed appliances for accuracy, fit, function and appearance.
• Maintain accurate records of laboratory work and completed appliances.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure appropriate hygiene, quality and workplace safety standards are followed.
• Communicate with dentists and other dental professionals regarding technical requirements and any issues affecting the manufacture or fit of appliances.

In line with our business expansion plans we are currently seeking a skilled Dental Technician to join our team on a full-time basis.

About the Position

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Dental Technician to undertake the fabrication, repair, modification and restoration of dental appliances. Based primarily in Tamworth, this position will also involve working at our business partner’s premises throughout regional and remote NSW and Victoria.
