Job summary

RIM Investments P/L is seeking a Dental Chairside Assistant for a casual, on-site role at our Woolloomooloo practice. You will support dentists, prepare treatment areas, and help maintain patient comfort and safety in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Requirements include a Dental Chairside Assistant qualification or equivalent and current registration or eligibility. Flexible scheduling and ongoing professional development are available to support your career in dentistry.

Qualifications

• Qualified as a Dental Chairside Assistant or equivalent.
• Current registration with the relevant dental regulatory body, or eligible to register.
• Strong understanding of infection control, sterilization and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during clinical procedures and pass instruments as required.
• Prepare treatment areas and sterilize/setup instruments per infection control protocols.
• Provide chairside support and ensure patient comfort during treatment.
• Record treatment notes and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Manage instrument trays and stock levels of supplies.
• Support infection control and proper waste disposal.
• Communicate effectively with the dental team for coordinated care.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Assist reception with basic administrative tasks.

Job description

We are seeking a Dental Chairside Assistant to join our dental practice at 100 William Street, Woolloomooloo, NSW. This is a casual position offering flexibility and the opportunity to work in a dynamic, patient-focused dental environment. As a Dental Chairside Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our practice ensuring smooth, efficient clinical operations whilst maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety.

What you'll be doing

Assisting dentists during clinical procedures, passing instruments and materials as required

Preparing treatment areas, sterilizing and setting up instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols

Providing chairside support to patients, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns during treatment

Recording patient treatment notes and maintaining accurate clinical documentation

Managing instrument trays and ensuring adequate stock levels of clinical supplies and materials

Supporting infection control and biosecurity procedures, including proper disposal of clinical waste

Communicating effectively with the dental team to ensure coordinated, efficient patient care

Assisting with patient education regarding oral hygiene and post-treatment care instructions

Supporting the reception team with basic administrative tasks as required

What we're looking for

A qualification as a Dental Chairside Assistant or equivalent recognized qualification in dental assisting

Current registration with the relevant dental regulatory body, or eligibility to register

A thorough understanding of infection control, sterilization procedures and clinical safety protocols

Strong manual dexterity and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment

Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and team members

Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate clinical records

A genuine commitment to providing high-quality patient care and support

Flexibility to accommodate varying clinical schedules inherent to casual work

The successful applicant must be available to work Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Previous experience working as a chairside assistant in a dental practice is highly valued

Ability to work unsupervised in performing set tasks.
