Integrated Dental Health is seeking a Dental Assistant/Reception to join our team on a permanent casual basis. This is a versatile role based in Katoomba, NSW, where you will provide essential support to our dental practice by working flexibly across both clinical and administrative functions. You will be a key member of our team, contributing to the smooth operation of our practice and helping to deliver exceptional patient care and experience.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting dentists during clinical procedures and treatments, including instrument passing and patient positioning
• Maintaining a clean and sterile surgical environment, including instrument sterilisation and infection control protocols
• Recording patient treatment information and updating patient records accurately
• Greeting patients and welcoming them into the practice with professionalism and warmth
• Managing reception duties, including scheduling appointments and handling phone enquiries
• Processing patient payments and managing billing procedures
• Providing patients with pre and post-treatment advice and instructions
• Stocking and ordering dental supplies and materials as required
• Supporting the dentist and wider team to ensure a smooth, organised clinical environment

What we're looking for

• Previous experience as a dental assistant or in a dental reception role is preferred but not essential
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with patients and team members
• Strong organisational and time management abilities
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control and sterilisation procedures
• Computer literacy and familiarity with dental practice management software (or ability to learn quickly)
• A genuine passion for providing quality patient care and support
• Flexibility and reliability, with the ability to work in a casual capacity
• Current immunisations or willingness to obtain them as per dental practice requirements
• Desirable: certification in dental assisting or reception, or relevant hospitality or customer service experience
