Teachers Health Fund is seeking a Dental Assistant / Dental Receptionist in Surry Hills to join a friendly team. The role combines chair-side assisting, sterilisation and front-desk reception to ensure smooth clinic operations and a positive patient experience.

Open to Permanent Full-Time, Part-Time or Casual applicants, with a focus on patient care and teamwork. Training opportunities and a modern, well-equipped practice are offered in a centrally located facility near public transport.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a dental assistant or receptionist preferred, with willingness to train.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive, friendly attitude focused on patient care.
• Good organisational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in dental software is a plus but not essential.

Dental Assistant / Dental Receptionist - Surry Hills

About the Role:

As a Dental Assistant & Receptionist, you'll play an important role in creating a positive experience for our patients from the moment they walk through the door. You'll support the team through a combination of dental assisting, sterilisation, and reception duties, helping ensure our clinics run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting the dentist during procedures, including chair-side support and sterilisation of instruments.
• Preparing and maintaining treatment rooms and instruments.
• Managing patient appointments, bookings and recalls.
• Welcoming patients and ensuring a positive experience from arrival to departure.
• Handling patient enquiries and coordinating patient care.
• Maintaining patient records and ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date.
• Managing payments and health fund claims.

What we are looking for:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a dental assistant and/or dental receptionist is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
