Job summary

Winmalee Dental Centre in Sydney is seeking a Trainee Dental Assistant to join a small family-run practice. The role involves assisting during dental procedures, patient care, and a mix of administrative and clinical duties under a dentist's supervision.

The successful candidate will support patient care, maintain sterile environments, manage appointments, and help with basic practice administration. All ages are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and prepare them for scheduled dental procedures.
• Help the dental operator throughout procedures including suction and maintaining a clean mouth.
• Prepare the treatment room and ensure instruments/materials are available.
• Clean and sterilize instruments before and after treatment.
• Follow infection control procedures and decontaminate treatment areas.
• Provide administrative assistance including stocking dental and office supplies.
• Prepare accounts and collect payments per practice policies.
• Schedule patient appointments and maintain detailed treatment records.
• Handle customer service duties including answering the phone.

The Company:

We are a small family-owned dental company which believes in providing the personalised care to each and every patient.

The Role:

A dental assistant supports dental care delivery under the supervision and direction of a dental operator. As a Trainee Dental Assistant, you will perform avariety of patient care, administrative and clinical duties, and often work under the direction of a dentist when examining and treating patients.

Duties will include but not limited to:

• Greet patients and prepare them for scheduled dental procedures
• Help the dental operator throughout the course of procedures including clearing the patient's mouth of saliva or dental materials used during the treatment by operating suction or other appropriate equipment.
• Prepare the treatment room as directed by the dental operator and ensure correct instruments and materials are available for use
• Clean and sterilize the instruments prior to and after treatment
• Clean the surgery and treatment room in accordance with the practice’s policies and procedures, including decontamination procedures for infection control
• Provide the practice with administrative assistance, including the maintenance and re-stock of dental and office supplies
• Prepare accounts and collect payments in accordance with the practice’s policies and procedures
• Schedule appointments for patients and maintain detailed records of patient’s treatments
• Undertake customer service duties, including answering the phone
