Job summary

The Hospitals Contribution Fund Of Australia Limited in Campbelltown is seeking a Dental Assistant to support dentists and our practice manager, ensuring patient comfort and smooth day-to-day operations at the Campbelltown Dental Center in Macarthur Square.

You will maintain infection control, assist with chair-side duties, manage instruments and stock, and participate in WHS compliance. This permanent full-time role offers a collaborative environment and opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• Essential: previous dental knowledge and experience.
• Essential: neat appearance and sound personal hygiene.
• Essential: high level of confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
• Essential: initiative and common sense in daily tasks.
• Essential: basic computer literacy.
• Desirable: radiography, sterilising, and/or first aid qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical assistance to dentists, ensuring patient comfort and efficiency throughout their visit.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised clinical environment in accordance with policies.
• Monitor patient day sheets, prepare for patient lists, and accommodate emergencies where possible.
• Coordinate patient flow, including escorting, settling, and preparing patients for treatment.
• Assist with chair-side duties: instrument and material set-up, procedure support, mixing materials, data entry, and radiograph development.
• Uphold infection control standards, manage surgery changeover and cleaning, and perform equipment and stock maintenance.
• Process and sterilise instruments, maintain stock levels, and validate sterilisation cycles.
• Report hazards, near misses, and injuries promptly.
• Participate in meetings, training, and health and safety activities.
