Job summary

HCF Bondi Junction Dental Center is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to work with dentists and the practice manager, ensuring patient comfort, smooth daily operations, and adherence to our dental quality management system.

This full-time, maximum-term position (40 hours/week, Monday to Friday) supports chair-side duties, infection control, instrument preparation, stock management, and ongoing learning within a supportive, member-focused organization.

Qualifications

• Prior dental knowledge and experience.
• Neat appearance and high personal hygiene.
• High level of confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
• Initiative and common sense in daily tasks.
• Basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical assistance to dentists and ensure patient comfort and efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, safe clinical environment per policies.
• Prepare patient day sheets and schedules, and assist with emergencies where possible.
• Coordinate patient flow, including escorting, settling, and preparation for treatment.
• Assist with chair-side duties: instrument setup, procedure support, radiograph development.
• Uphold infection control standards, manage surgery changeover and cleaning, and machine stock maintenance.
• Process and sterilise instruments, maintain stock levels, and validate sterilisation cycles.
• Report any fraudulent behaviour or activity as required.
• Comply with WHS legislation, policies and PPE, and report hazards promptly.
• Participate in meetings, training and health and safety activities.
