Job summary

Dr Chau Dental Surgeons in Hobart is seeking a proactive Dental Assistant to join their welcoming team. The role involves chairside assistance, patient care, infection control, and supporting smooth daily operations across two practice locations.

Ideal candidates will have dental assisting experience, strong communication, and a patient-focused approach, with WWVP registration or willingness to obtain it. This is a full-time role with potential for part-time arrangements for the right candidate,

Qualifications

• Previous dental assisting experience preferred, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.
• Friendly and approachable, with strong communication skills and a genuine passion for patient care.
• Well organised, with good time management skills and attention to detail.
• Able to work independently while contributing positively to a supportive team environment.
• Comfortable using computers and learning practice management systems.
• Hold a current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration, or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Assisting dentists and dental hygienists in a variety of treatment procedures.
• Setting up and sterilising dental instruments and equipment.
• Managing patient care, from providing instructions to ensuring comfort.
• Contributing to the maintenance of health and safety standards.
