Job summary

Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd is seeking a part-time Dental Assistant to support chair-side dental services and administrative tasks across Capalaba, Stradbroke Island, and Wynnum clinics. You will work with the oral health team to deliver quality care in designated locations.

Required qualifications include 2 years dental assistant experience, QLD Blue Card, and current First Aid & CPR. Desirable Cert III in Dental Assisting.

Qualifications

• Current Criminal History Check or willingness to obtain.
• Current First Aid & CPR Certificates.
• Current C Class Drivers Licence (Qld).

About Us

The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.

The Oral Health service provides a range of oral health care services from IUIH and Member service clinics as well as from a fully equipped mobile van, as required.

About the Role

The purpose of the position is to improve the Oral Health of the community through the delivery of quality dental treatment and support services. The role will provide dental assistance (chair side) and dental administration as well as provide support to the oral health team in service delivery in designated primary clinic locations and outreach services as required. We have a part-time permanent position, based within our South / East region. Candidate must be available to work across our Capalaba, Stradbroke Island, and Wynnum Clinics.

Your Day-to-day Duties May Include

• Provide quality general dental support services to clients during hours of operation of the service, in keeping with accepted best practice standards.
• Perform administration duties as required within both a clinical environment and office environment.
• Undertake established procedures associated with chair-side assistance.

About You

• Current QLD Blue Card
• Current Criminal History Check or willingness to obtain
• Current First Aid & CPR Certificates
• Current C Class Drivers Licence (Qld)
• Min 2 years dental assistant experience

Desirable, But Not Mandatory

• Cert III Qualification in Dental Assisting
• Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
