Job summary

Maven Dental Burwood is seeking a friendly Casual Dental Assistant to join our experienced team. You’ll provide chairside support, prepare rooms, and help maintain high standards of infection control and patient comfort.

You'll work alongside clinicians across a range of procedures, with flexible casual hours and ongoing training to grow your skills within the Abano Healthcare network of 260+ practices across Australia and New Zealand.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is beneficial.
• Cert III or IV in Dental Assisting is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and patient‑focussed approach.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient chairside assistance to clinicians.
• Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for patient appointments.
• Sterilise and maintain dental instruments and equipment.
• Follow infection control and sterilisation procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic clinical environment.
• Support stock control and ensure clinical supplies are maintained.

Job Description

As a Dental Assistant, you’ll work closely with our experienced clinicians to provide quality chairside support throughout patient appointments. You’ll also play an important role in maintaining high standards of sterilisation, infection control and clinical presentation.

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide efficient and attentive chairside assistance to clinicians.
• Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for patient appointments.
• Sterilise and maintain dental instruments and equipment.
• Follow infection control and sterilisation procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic clinical environment.
• Support stock control and ensure clinical supplies are maintained.
• Help patients feel comfortable and supported throughout their visit.

Qualifications

Ideally, you will bring:

• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant, with a Cert III or IV in Dental Assisting advantageous.
• Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology, with ongoing training and support provided.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm and patient-focused approach.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• The ability to multitask and work confidently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Experience using dental software is advantageous.
