Job summary

Novotel Hotels in Sydney is seeking a kitchen professional to join the Birdie Bar & Brasserie. You will prepare, cook and serve a range of dishes, helping create memorable guest experiences in a fast-paced environment.

You will lead by example, support the kitchen team and assist in training apprentices while maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness. Strong communication with the Head Chef is essential to ensure smooth service.

Qualifications

• Experience in a high-volume kitchen.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and equipment care.
• Ability to work well in a team and train apprentices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook all food orders in line with kitchen recipes and standards with a sense of urgency.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, cleanliness and equipment care.
• Monitor stock requirements, minimise wastage and support effective food cost control.
• Assist with menu preparation and ensure adequate supplies are available for service.
• Lead by example, support the kitchen team and assist in training and developing apprentices.
• Communicate proactively with the Head Chef/Supervisor to ensure smooth and productive service.
