EVT in Cairns is seeking a talented Demi Chef to join a fast-paced kitchen at Rydges Esplanade Resort Cairns. You will bring energy, pride in every plate, and a drive to grow your career within EVT’s extensive experience network.

You’ll rotate across kitchen sections, support senior chefs, and maintain hygiene and efficiency while contributing to a positive team culture. Perks from Day One include dining discounts and rapid career progression.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver high-quality dishes across à la carte and room service
• Confidently rotate across different sections of the kitchen as needed
• Work closely with senior chefs to prioritise daily kitchen operations
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment at all times
• Minimise waste and ensure cost-effective food preparation
• Support training and development of junior kitchen staff
• Step up to lead the section when required
• Follow all standard operating procedures and WH&S guidelines
• Contribute to a positive, professional, and collaborative team culture
• Assist the conference & catering team with events as needed
