Job summary

Pullman Sydney Hyde Park is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Part Time Demi Chef to join our dynamic kitchen brigade. Located in the heart of Sydney overlooking Hyde Park, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional dining experiences across our restaurant, bar, room service, and event operations.

We offer a structured kitchen environment where you will work with the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef and Executive Chef to deliver exceptional experiences.

Qualifications

• Foundational understanding of food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Experience in a hotel or fast-paced kitchen environment is preferred.
• Understanding of HACCP and food safety standards.
• Team player with a passion for delivering quality food.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver food across all service periods—breakfast, lunch, dinner, room service, functions, and buffet—in line with recipes and quality standards.
• Ensure a clean, hygienic workspace, oversee stock rotation, reduce waste, and maintain equipment.
• Efficiently run an assigned section, support apprentices and junior team members, and assist the Chef on duty when needed.
• Monitor daily food and supply requirements, coordinate with supervisors on ordering, and adhere to food safety regulations.
