Job summary

Pullman Sydney Hyde Park is seeking a casual Demi Chef to join our dynamic kitchen brigade overlooking Hyde Park. You will work closely with the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef and Executive Chef to deliver exceptional experiences across restaurant, bar, room service, and events.

As a key member of a busy, frontline kitchen team, you will prepare and deliver food to multiple service periods while maintaining HACCP and hygiene standards. Weekend and public holiday availability is essential.

Qualifications

• A foundational understanding of food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Previous experience in a hotel or fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Understanding of HACCP and food safety standards.
• Team player with a passion for delivering quality food.
• Ability to thrive under pressure and take initiative.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver food across all service periods per recipes and standards.
• Maintain clean, hygienic workspace, manage stock rotation and waste.
• Run assigned section, support apprentices and team, assist Chef on duty.
• Monitor daily food and supply needs, coordinate with supervisors on ordering and safety.
