Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort and Elysia Wellness Retreat are seeking a skilled and motivated Demi Chef to join our kitchen team on a casual basis in New South Wales, Australia.

You will assist with food preparation, cooking and presentation, ensuring high-quality dining experiences for guests while maintaining WHS and HACCP standards. The role offers rotating rosters, with part-time or full-time options depending on business needs, including weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Demi Chef or in a similar kitchen role.
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
• Knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and presentation standards.
• Understanding of HACCP, OH&S, and kitchen hygiene requirements.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work across weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes in line with menu standards and guest expectations.
• Assist in development and plating of high-quality meals.
• Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and WHS standards.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team for efficient service.
• Support and mentor junior kitchen staff where required.
• Contribute to menu planning and kitchen efficiency improvements.
