Dementia Support Australia (DSA) in Hervey Bay is seeking a Dementia Consultant to support people living with dementia and their care networks. You will assess, plan and implement non-pharmacological strategies to improve quality of life and reduce behavioural challenges.

The role operates within HACDSP, is based in Hervey Bay with a flexible hybrid work model, and requires Australian work rights, qualifications in Allied Health or Nursing, and travel as needed.

Formación

• Expertise in supporting people living with dementia.
• Experience in Australian residential aged care and/or community aged care.
• Relatable and able to share knowledge to support change at all levels.
• Strong negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent problem solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Current Australian driver's license and willingness to travel.
• Empathy and patience.
• Commitment to HammondCare’s Christian Mission.

Responsabilidades

• Support families, caregivers and clinical staff to understand how dementia impacts individuals.
• Equip carers and clinicians to prevent and respond to behaviour changes.
• Synthesize information to provide evidence-based, relationship-centred recommendations.
• Develop contextual reports to improve quality of life.
• Undertake assessments to understand the person and care network.
• Collaborate with the DSA team across acute, home and aged care sectors.
• Contribute to research and programs; engage with evolving sector needs.
• Undertake other projects aligned with skills and knowledge.
