Job summary

FinXL IT Professional Services in Australia seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead a high-visibility Complaints Compliance Uplift within our Risk & Regulatory Practice. The contract runs 9–12 months and is available in Sydney or Brisbane with a flexible hybrid pattern (2–3 days on-site).

You will own discovery, scope, change management, and delivery across Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Member Relations, shaping adoption strategies, managing stakeholders, and transitioning outcomes to BAU.

Qualifications

• General Insurance domain experience with regulatory obligations.
• 5+ years of Senior Project Management experience with Change Management capabilities.
• Highly autonomous with the ability to navigate complex matrix structures and solve ambiguities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to engage diverse stakeholders.
• PM/Agile/Change Management certifications are highly regarded.

• Shaping & Mobilisation: Lead discovery to establish scope, delivery roadmaps, resources and dependencies.
• End-to-End Delivery: Build detailed project plans, manage critical paths, RAID logs, and governance reporting.

The Opportunity

Advance your consulting career and join the FinXL Risk & Regulatory Practice as a Senior Project Manager leading a business-critical Complaints Compliance Uplift initiative.
This highly autonomous engagement requires a Senior PM with strong Change Management capabilities who can shape, mobilise, and deliver complex regulatory outcomes across a diverse stakeholder landscape. You will lead discovery to establish scope, design the initial change and adoption strategy, and drive delivery across Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Member Relations streams.

Key Responsibilities

• Shaping & Mobilisation: Lead discovery activities to establish scope, delivery roadmaps, resource requirements, and dependencies.
  
• End-to-End Delivery: Build detailed project plans, manage critical paths, control RAID logs, and produce high-quality executive governance reporting.
  
• Change Strategy & Adoption: Conduct stakeholder impact assessments and design the business readiness, engagement, and adoption roadmap before additional change execution support is mobilised.
  
• Stakeholder Navigation: Proactively engage cross-functional teams (Risk, Compliance, Legal, Customer Relations) to create clarity, resolve ambiguity, and drive accountability across competing priorities.
  
• Transition to BAU: Create transition plans, measure adoption outcomes, and establish long-term ownership models.
  

Key Criteria & Requirements

• General Insurance Experience (Mandatory): Must have proven General Insurance domain experience with a strong practical understanding of regulatory obligations and insurance operational environments.
  
• Dual Skill-set: 5+ years of Senior Project Management experience paired with strong, practical Change Management capabilities (designing change approaches, stakeholder maps, and adoption plans).
  
• High Autonomy: Demonstrated ability to operate with limited direction, navigate complex corporate matrix structures, and proactively solve ambiguous problems.
  
• Communication & Influence: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to bring diverse stakeholders along on the transformation journey.
  
• Delivery Tools & Certifications: Hands-on experience with Agile/PM tools (Jira, Confluence). Relevant PM (PMP/PRINCE2), Agile, or Change Management certifications are highly regarded.

• Duration: 9-12 month contract
  
• Location: Open to candidates located in Sydney or Brisbane in the CBD.
  
• Work Arrangement: Flexible hybrid working arrangement (2-3 days per week on-site).
