Job summary

The Department of Government Services is seeking a Delivery Lead (Digital Experience Enablement) to head a senior engineering team responsible for the Single Digital Presence and related digital capabilities. You will champion Drupal-based platforms, drive reliability, and align delivery across SDP and Service Victoria in a hybrid Agile/Waterfall setting.

• Strong expertise in Drupal platforms, digital technologies, modern engineering practices, and service reliability.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex technology initiatives and deliver outcomes through Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery approaches.

• Maintain responsibility for the Drupal platform and related engineering practices, ensuring the platform remains secure, reliable, maintainable and fit for whole-of-government use.
• Drive efficiencies across SDP and Service Victoria platforms by identifying reusable patterns, shared capabilities and repeatable digital experience approaches for both content and transaction services.

About The Branch/Group

The Citizen Technology Platforms branch builds and maintains a rich collection of digital tools to enhance citizens' digital interactions with government. We look after the content management system that runs most government websites, the Service Victoria mobile app, and an extensive array of web-based transactions. Through careful reuse, modern development methods, and extensive use of cloud and AI, we deliver high-value online experiences at scale and speed.

About the Role

The Delivery Lead (Digital Experience Enablement) leads a senior multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for Single Digital Presence and the delivery of repeatable digital experience capabilities across content and transaction platforms. The role has a heavy focus on sustaining and improving SDP as the Victorian Government's central content management system for content websites, including responsibility for the Drupal platform and related engineering practices. Working across SDP and Service Victoria platforms, the role drives high-value, low-cost and repeatable digital experiences that improve consistency, efficiency and service quality. The role operates in a hybrid Agile and Waterfall environment, balancing continuous improvement with the reliability, governance and planning needs of high-availability foundational platforms.
