Job summary

Enablement Studio is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join the Department of Defence at HMAS Harman, Canberra. This hands‑on role focuses on end‑user computing and systems administration within a closed Defence environment.

The position backfills an existing engagement; work spans Windows/Linux servers, virtualization, and secure access, with a strong emphasis on compliance and incident management. Australian citizenship and NV1 (NV2 desirable) are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in IT or equivalent qualifications.
• Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Practical Linux (RHEL) administration and mixed Windows/Linux environments.
• Experience with virtualization, patching and configuration management (Ansible preferred).
• Security‑first mindset; able to work autonomously in classified environments.

Responsibilities

• Administer Windows Server and Windows 10/11 Enterprise environments, including AD, DNS, Group Policy and patching.
• Operate and support VMware vSphere/ESXi and Hyper-V virtualization platforms.
• Administer RHEL/Linux servers and supporting services in Defence settings.
• Run Ansible playbooks for patching, configuration, and compliance.
• Support secure user access services, including Citrix remote access.
