Northrop Grumman Australia is seeking a System Safety Engineer to support Defence aviation programs, identifying and managing risks to ensure safe aircraft operation. You will join a collaborative team with mentoring, hybrid working, a 9-day fortnight and opportunities to build expertise in safety engineering, airworthiness and Defence capability.

You’ll contribute to hazard identification, risk assessment, safety investigations and safety assurance activities while being supported by

Qualifications

• Engineering degree recognised by Engineers Australia.
• Approximately 5 years’ System Safety experience.
• Experience solving technical problems and assessing risk.
• Knowledge of MIL-STD-882 or Defence Aviation Safety Regulations.
• Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication skills.
• Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 Security Clearance.

Responsabilités

• Conduct system safety assessments and risk analysis.
• Support hazard identification and hazard management activities.
• Develop and contribute to safety cases, hazard logs and risk registers.
• Participate in safety reviews and investigations.
• Provide safety advice to engineering teams.
• Support compliance with aviation safety and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to safety reporting and assurance activities.
• Assist in the continuous improvement of safety programs.
• Actively participate in System Safety Working Groups and other safety forums.
