Job summary

BAE Systems Australia is seeking an Assistant Security Officer based at Flinders Street Offices, SA. You will provide Defence security advice and support to all business operations in line with security policies and guidelines.

This 9-month full-time fixed-term role embraces flexible work arrangements, including a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working. You will liaise with Defence Security Authorities and ensure compliance across site and operations.

Qualifications

• Australian citizen eligible to obtain and maintain Negative Vetting Level 2 security clearance.
• Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms regulations (ITAR).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Very high attention to detail, strong time management and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy team environment.
• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing security measures for defence security classified information and sensitive commercial information.
• Provide efficient, effective security service to customers, both internal and external.
• Liaise with Defence Security Authorities across States and with BAE Systems Australia; ensure employees/contractors have appropriate clearances.
• Maintain site and business security compliance.
• Respond to and record security incidents with proper escalation.
• Assist with writing security procedures and work instructions per DSPF and related guidelines.
• Triaging calls within the Security Service Desk.
