Job summary

Mega Recruitment is seeking a Project Architect / Senior Architect for Defence projects in Sydney. The role targets 7–15+ years of post-graduate experience and strong Revit capabilities, with a focus on design-led, complex projects within a stable practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or equivalent qualification.
• 7–15+ years’ post-graduate architectural experience.
• Demonstrated experience on Australian Defence projects.
• Experience in secure Defence and Government project environments.
• High-level proficiency in Revit.
• Strong leadership and architectural delivery experience.
• Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams.
• Solid understanding of Australian building codes, regulations and standards.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and support team development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading Defence and other significant design-led architectural projects.
• Taking projects through design development, documentation, coordination and delivery.
• Leading the preparation and review of architectural documentation in Revit.
• Managing and coordinating internal architectural teams across project stages.
• Coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Leading consultant coordination and resolving complex design, technical and construction-related issues.
• Participating in and leading design reviews, project meetings and stakeholder presentations.
• Managing project deliverables, programmes and key milestones.
• Ensuring documentation complies with Australian codes, Defence requirements and project criteria.
• Reviewing documentation and maintaining high technical and design quality.
• Mentoring Graduate Architects and less experienced team members.
• Contributing to a collaborative, design-focused studio culture.
