Job description

Mega Recruitment is partnering with a highly regarded national architectural practice based in Sydney, known for delivering high-quality projects across Australia. They are seeking an experienced Project Leader | Package Leader with 8+ years of architectural experience to take ownership of projects/packages, and work closely with senior leadership across design, documentation and delivery.

This is a role for someone who enjoys being responsible for the outcome.

You’ll be leading project teams, coordinating consultants, managing deadlines and helping drive projects from the early stages through to construction. You will be trusted to make decisions, resolve issues as they arise and keep both the team and project moving in the right direction.

In this role, you will work across complex architectural projects and take responsibility for the delivery of your projects.

Your role will include:

  • Leading projects and packages through documentation and construction
  • Allocating tasks and coordinating team workloads
  • Working closely with senior leadership on project strategy and delivery
  • Coordinating consultants and external stakeholders
  • Managing project programmes, deadlines and deliverables
  • Reviewing architectural documentation and technical quality
  • Identifying project risks and resolving issues early
  • Managing client communication and project expectations
  • Supporting junior and mid-level team members
  • Taking ownership of project outcomes

This is an opportunity to step into a role where you can genuinely lead rather than simply contribute to one part of the project. We’re looking for someone with a minimum of 8+ years of architectural experience who has developed project leadership and delivery capability.

You may already hold the title of Project Leader, Package Leader, or Senior Architect, or you may be operating at this level without the formal recognition.

You will ideally bring:

  • 8+ years of architectural experience
  • Strong current Australian architectural experience
  • Proven experience leading projects and teams
  • Experience working across multiple phases of project delivery
  • Strong design development and documentation knowledge
  • Solid technical and construction understanding
  • Experience coordinating consultants and multidisciplinary teams
  • Confidence managing project programmes and deadlines
  • Experience working directly with clients and stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • The ability to mentor and support less experienced staff
  • Strong communication and organisational skills

Revit capability will be highly regarded, particularly for someone who can review work, understand the model and support the team technically when required.

This role will suit someone who enjoys taking ownership of a project and being the person the team can rely on. You’ll be comfortable managing multiple moving parts, making decisions, solving problems and communicating clearly with both your internal team and external stakeholders.

You may be looking for more autonomy in your current role, or you may be ready to move into a practice where your project leadership capability is recognised and supported.

The ideal person will be technically strong, commercially aware and confident managing people, but will also understand that successful project leadership comes from communication, collaboration and knowing when to escape an issue.

You’ll be joining an established national architectural practice with a strong presence across Australia.

The business offers the scale and project opportunities of a larger practice while maintaining a collaborative studio environment where people are encouraged to take ownership and develop their careers.

You’ll work closely with experienced senior leaders and have the opportunity to contribute across significant projects while continuing to build towards future progression.

Company Benefits
  • Join a respected national architectural practice
  • Work across significant and complex Australian projects
  • Take genuine ownership of project delivery
  • Lead and mentor architectural project teams
  • Strong support from Associates and Directors
  • Collaborative and professional studio culture
  • Career development and progression opportunities
  • Exposure to a broad range of clients and project stakeholders
  • Competitive salary package based on experience

Due to the level of local project knowledge and leadership experience required for this role, overseas applications will not be considered.

If you’re an experienced Project Leader, Package Leader or Senior Architect who enjoys running projects, leading teams and taking responsibility for successful project outcomes, we’d love to hear from you.
