Job summary

Lockheed Martin Australia seeks an AIR6500 Product Owner to provide technical leadership across a complex system-of-systems environment, shaping product direction and prioritising delivery for mission-critical air and missile defence capabilities.

The role requires extensive Agile experience, MBSE proficiency and strong stakeholder engagement, with Australian citizenship and eligibility for an Australian Defence security clearance.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience delivering complex engineering solutions within Agile development environments.
• Proven technical leadership across large-scale systems, defence capability projects or acquisition programs.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts and MBSE tools.
• Defence industry experience and knowledge of Air Battle Management / Integrated Air & Missile Defence preferred.
• Degree qualifications in an engineering discipline or equivalent industry experience.
• Australian citizens eligible for an Australian Defence security clearance (NV-1).
• Proficiency in AI prompting as applied to this role.

Responsibilities

• Defining and communicating the technical direction, scope and priorities for AIR6500 products.
• Managing product backlogs, feature prioritisation and Agile planning with stakeholders.
• Establishing feature acceptance criteria and validating outcomes against objectives.
• Assessing architecture options and trade-offs to support informed decisions.
• Providing technical leadership, mentoring and domain expertise across the lifecycle.
• Acting as the voice of the customer with Defence customers and industry partners.
