Job summary

Informatech, a leading ICT consultancy, seeks a seasoned Linux/DevOps engineer to join a defence-focused program in Canberra. You will design and document system architectures, automate deployment, and support production Linux SOE images in secure environments.

You will collaborate across teams to maintain patching, configuration control, and knowledge transfer, while applying DevOps best practices and creating solid technical documentation to sustain mission-critical IT services.

Qualifications

• Experience in Defence deployable or secure government environments.
• Experience customizing, administering and hardening Linux servers/OS/applications.
• Experience automating and scripting installation and customization.
• Experience developing and maintaining Linux SOE images.
• Experience developing technical documentation.
• Experience with DevOps methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and document system architecture, advising on interfacing systems.
• Develop, maintain, and integrate software components and applications, including automation of installation and deployment.
• Build, administer, and support production systems, including L3 support.
• Maintain configuration control and documentation, baselining and SOPs.
• Develop and implement patch management processes for supported systems.
• Transfer knowledge to support personnel and contribute to training materials.
