Job summary

Showtime Consulting is seeking an experienced Linux Engineer to support critical government infrastructure in Canberra. The role focuses on administration, automation, and ongoing improvement of enterprise Linux environments across virtualised and hybrid platforms.

Ideal candidates will have strong RHEL experience, Ansible, VMware and a solid understanding of security hardening, networking, and incident troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Experience in Linux system administration or engineering.
• Strong background with RHEL or similar distributions.
• Experience with Ansible or similar automation tools.
• Experience supporting enterprise VMware environments.
• Strong Linux security patching and hardening.
• Networking fundamentals including DNS, routing, firewalls.
• Experience in government or regulated environments is highly regarded.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.

What You'll Need

• Linux systems administration or engineering experience.

• Strong understanding of Linux security, patching, and system hardening.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals including DNS, routing, firewalls, and load balancing.
• Experience with enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Experience in government, defence, or highly regulated environments would be highly regarded.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
