Job summary

Laing O’Rourke is seeking a Project Director to join its AUKUS team in Osborne, South Australia. You will lead the Nuclear-Powered Submarine Construction Yard program, directing safety, quality, cost and schedule across complex defence infrastructure projects.

You will manage a large multidisciplinary team, engage with government stakeholders and clients, and drive strategies from design through commissioning while upholding rigorous governance and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management or Project Management.
• Extensive experience delivering major infrastructure and Defence projects.
• Proven ability to lead large multidisciplinary teams with complex governance.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership for the successful delivery of the project.
• Develop and execute project delivery strategies from design to handover.
• Lead a multidisciplinary leadership team fostering accountability and collaboration.
• Manage programme, cost, risk and resources to meet objectives.
• Maintain relationships with clients, JV partners, government and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory and safety standards.
• Identify risks and opportunities and implement mitigation.
• Act as senior representative engaging with executives on strategic topics.
• Champion safety, inclusion, wellbeing and high performance.
