Job summary

Laing O’Rourke is recruiting a Construction Director to join the AUKUS team delivering the Nuclear‑Powered Submarine Construction Yard project at Osborne, South Australia. You will support the Project Director, establish project briefs, drive cost plans and risk mitigation, and lead procurement strategy with consultants selected to meet key drivers.

The role requires an engineering or construction management degree, strong leadership, and a capability to communicate with directors to operatives.

Qualifications

• Understanding of design and problem solving.
• Commercial acumen and ability to communicate up to board level.
• Ability to lead safety and environmental responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to safety targets and zero incidents.
• Support the Project Director to meet client expectations and budget.
• Develop a design procurement strategy and oversee cost planning.
• Oversee cost planning and align design with project budget.
