Job summary

Leidos Australia is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a team focused on sustaining and introducing new capabilities for the Royal Australian Navy. The role involves electrical design, system integration of COTS/MOTS, and driving technical investigations through to delivery.

You will work on 12V-24V systems, power distribution, wiring, and safety compliance, collaborating with the Technical Lead to meet project goals and customer needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Ability to think system-wide and assess impacts of changes.
• Experience in risk and hazard management within regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver electrical engineering tasks within a Defence-focused project.
• Work on 12V-24V battery systems, power distribution and wiring to IPC/WHMA standards.
• Create and modify engineering drawings and documentation for reviews.
• Serve as SME for electrical design, integrating COTS/MOTS elements.
• Drive engineering tasks from investigation to completion and coordinate test activities.
