Job summary

Leidos Australia is seeking an Electrical Engineer to contribute to Defence-focused systems, supporting the Royal Australian Navy and related platforms. You will work on power systems, COTS/MOTS integration and system-wide impact assessments within a collaborative team.

The role requires tertiary Electrical Engineering qualifications recognised in Australia, practical experience in regulatory environments, and the ability to create engineering artefacts and documentation for review.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, recognised in Australia.
• Ability to think system-wide and assess effects of changes on the whole system.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and hazard/risk identification in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of engineering tasks within the team.
• Work on 12V-24V battery systems, power distribution and wiring/cabling to IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.
• Create and modify engineering drawings and documentation for reviews.
• Serve as SME for Electrical Engineering design and integration of COTS/MOTS elements.
• Develop system enhancements and implement them in service.
• Support testing and evaluation activities within a structured engineering framework.
