Job summary

Downer in Canberra is seeking a Communications Technician L3 to provide advanced technical and maintenance support across the CJC10 product. The role requires initiative and accountability, operating under broad direction to meet objectives and sustainment outcomes.

You will execute complex activities, manage technical knowledge, advise senior engineers, and collaborate with Defence partners while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Relevant higher education or vocational qualifications in communications engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate fluently, both orally and in writing, and present complex information to diverse audiences.
• Experience in Defence sustainment and technical assurance activities.

Responsibilities

• Execute complex communications technical and maintenance activities.
• Develop, review and assess technical packages, reports, and product performance against requirements.
• Provide detailed technical advice to the Engineering Manager and ILS Lead.
• Build relationships with Defence stakeholders and suppliers to influence outcomes.
• Mentor staff and support knowledge management.
