Job summary

RCD Consulting Pty Ltd is recruiting scheduling specialists to support complex Defence programs in Canberra. You will develop and maintain Integrated Master Schedules, perform critical path analysis, and provide governance and reporting insights to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and analyse complex project or program schedules in a Defence environment.
• Support Defence acquisition, sustainment or project delivery activities within an above-the-line CASG setting.
• Prepare schedule reports, variance analyses, progress updates and forecast completion briefs.
• Analyse schedule information alongside cost and risk data for management reporting.
• Engage with project managers, PMO teams and senior stakeholders to manage schedules.

Demonstrated experience developing, maintaining and analysing complex project or program schedules in a Defence environment.

Strong understanding of Defence project controls, scheduling methodologies, schedule governance and reporting requirements.

Experience maintaining Integrated Master Schedules, including schedule logic, dependencies, constraints, baselines, critical path analysis and forecast reporting.

Proficiency with Open Plan Professional, with MS Project experience also highly regarded.

Experience supporting Defence acquisition, sustainment or project delivery activities, preferably in an above-the-line CASG environment.

Ability to develop and assess PWBS, CWBS, WBS dictionaries and supporting schedule data.

Experience preparing schedule reports, variance analysis, progress updates, forecast completion advice, briefs and other schedule-related documentation.

Ability to analyse schedule information alongside cost, risk and project performance data to support project controls and management reporting.

Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to work with project managers, PMO teams, technical staff and senior stakeholders.

Experience identifying schedule risks, dependencies, constraints and performance issues, and recommending practical mitigation or recovery actions.

Relevant tertiary qualifications, scheduling accreditation, or equivalent Defence/project scheduling experience.

Experience working in a CASG or above-the-line Defence project environment.

Familiarity with CASG scheduling business rules and Defence project reporting expectations.

Experience with Earned Value Management or Earned Value Performance Measurement.

Experience assessing Contractor Master Schedules and contractor schedule performance.

Understanding of DEF(AUST) 5664 and Defence work breakdown structure requirements.

Experience supporting scheduling workshops, resource planning, resource levelling and dependency analysis.

Familiarity with contemporary Defence capability acquisition and delivery processes, including the One Defence Capability System where relevant.

Experience supporting broader project controls activities across schedule, cost, risk, governance and reporting.

Experience mentoring junior schedulers or uplifting scheduling capability within a Defence team.

Current Defence security clearance, preferably NV1 or above.
